--- ## Description This funding opportunity seeks proposals for innovative solutions addressing the early detection, prevention, and treatment of preeclampsia, with an emphasis on impact in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) where the burden of maternal morbidity and mortality from preeclampsia is highest. The initiative encourages collaborations across research institutions, healthcare providers, and global health organizations to develop affordable, scalable, and practical solutions. Key objectives include the discovery of novel biomarkers and diagnostic technologies for early prediction, deeper understanding of the biological mechanisms and heterogeneity of preeclampsia, and the development of preventive or therapeutic interventions to reduce disease incidence and severity. --- ## Due Dates - March 25, 2025: Full application deadline (applications due no later than March 25, 2025, 11:30 a.m. US Pacific Time) --- ## Funding Amount - Maximum award: Up to $500,000 USD per project - Grant duration: Up to 2 years - Indirect costs: Allowed and should be included within the $500,000 limit, subject to the [Gates Foundation's indirect cost policy](https://docs.gatesfoundation.org/Documents/Indirect_Cost_Policy.pdf) - Budgets must be commensurate with the proposed scope of work --- ## Eligibility - Open to: - Nonprofit organizations - For-profit companies - International organizations - Government agencies - Academic institutions - Strong encouragement for: - Women-led projects or organizations - Institutions based in LMICs - No specific qualifications required for Principal Investigators, but relevant expertise must be demonstrated. - Multiple proposals allowed from the same organization, but each must have a distinct PI and email address. - Clinical research must include patients in LMIC settings;
