Summary: Funds projects that help individuals in Appalachia recovering from substance use disorder enter or stay in the workforce by building recovery-to-work ecosystems and support partnerships.
Key Information: Matching funds required; projects must benefit part of the Appalachian Region and align with ARC priorities.
This opportunity supports projects in the Appalachian Region that create or expand community partnerships, services, and recovery-to-work ecosystems for individuals recovering from substance use disorder (SUD). The initiative funds both implementation and planning grants to build or enhance workforce development networks, promote recovery-ready workplaces, and provide wraparound services (such as housing, childcare, and transportation) that help people in recovery obtain and maintain employment. Projects must align with the Appalachian Regional Commission’s (ARC) strategic workforce goals and at least one of the INSPIRE funding priorities, including job training, skill building, workforce entry networks, evaluation, coalition building, and stigma reduction. Evidence-based or emerging practices and cross-sector partnerships are encouraged.
