This fellowship provides a one-year, hands-on training opportunity in thoracic aortic surgery for early-career cardiothoracic surgeons who have not previously had exposure to this subspecialty. Hosted at the University of Vienna’s Department of Cardiac Surgery—one of Europe’s largest aortic aneurysm centers—the program offers high-volume operative experience, comprehensive clinical immersion, and encourages participation in research. The fellowship is designed to develop future leaders in thoracic aortic surgery and includes mentoring, clinical duties, and attendance at the AATS Annual Meeting.
