The International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) is a flagship professional exchange initiative of the U.S. government, administered by the American Councils for International Education in partnership with the U.S. Department of State. The program brings current and emerging leaders from across the globe to the United States for three-week, tailored exchanges. Participants engage in professional meetings, site visits, interactive workshops, and cultural activities relevant to their fields, fostering mutual understanding and building lasting professional networks. IVLP themes span a wide range of sectors, including agriculture, technology, energy security, education, national security, economic development, civic engagement, and more. Since 1940, the program has hosted over 225,000 international visitors, including heads of state, Nobel Laureates, and leaders in government, academia, and industry.
