--- ## Description This grant program is designed to strengthen opportunities for conducting large-scale, non-commercial clinical trials in Denmark. The primary goal is to advance patient care by supporting the development of new medicines and technologies and ensuring the highest standards in clinical treatment. The program supports both single-center and multicenter national trials, as well as international multicenter trials, provided the main applicant and the trial are anchored at a Danish hospital. For international studies coordinated outside Denmark, only the Danish component is eligible for funding if the main applicant is based in Denmark and holds a key role in the project. The program emphasizes adherence to good clinical practice, rigorous protocols, and open data sharing upon trial completion. --- ## Due Dates - August 21, 2025: Full application submission deadline (call closes at 14:00 Copenhagen time) - August 18, 2026: Full application submission deadline (call closes at 14:00 / 2:00pm Copenhagen time) All dates are projected based on the annual cycle; check the program page for updates. --- ## Funding Amount - Individual grants range from DKK 6 million to DKK 22 million, supporting projects over 3–5 years. - Total call budget: DKK 89 million. - Eligible costs include salaries (excluding the main applicant's own salary), research and technical assistance, operating expenses, equipment (up to 20% of budget), travel, publication costs, and administrative support (not for Danish universities). - Main applicant's salary is not covered and must be secured for the duration of the project. --- ## Eligibility - **Project**: Must be a clinical trial (not product development or implementation) with no industrial or commercial purpose. All trials must conform to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and be registered at [ClinicalTrials.gov](https://clinicaltrials.gov/) or [CTIS](https://www.ema.europa.eu/en/human-regulatory/research-development/clinical-trials/clinical-trials-information-system). - **Main Applicant**: Must hold an MD, be a specialist physician, and be employed at a Danish hospital where the project is anchored. Must have documented research leadership experience. - **Sponsor**: The institutional head must act as sponsor (cannot be the main applicant) and provide a signed letter confirming responsibility for the trial and grant administration. - **Co-applicants**: Up to four allowed; must be actively involved in the project. Project employees (including postdocs and PhD students) cannot be co-applicants. - **Other**: Applicants with an active grant may only apply for a new grant in the final year of the current grant (no overlap).
