The Iowans Create Community Mural Program, administered by the Iowa Arts Council, is designed to match Iowa-based artists with communities across the state to plan, design, and create original murals. These murals are intended to activate public spaces, enhance community engagement, and celebrate the unique creative and cultural identity of each participating community. Selected artists or artist teams partner closely with community representatives and the Iowa Arts Council throughout the design and development process, ensuring the completed mural authentically represents the community’s spirit.
