This program connects Iowa-based artists with eligible Iowa communities (population 20,000 or fewer) to collaboratively plan, design, and install original murals that express the community's unique creative and cultural identity. The initiative aims to enhance civic pride, activate public spaces, and strengthen the sense of place through engaging, site-specific public art. Selected artists and communities work closely with the Iowa Arts Council throughout the project, from concept to completion.
