    Description

The Japanese Language Education Assistant Program (J-LEAP) is an initiative by the Japan Foundation of Los Angeles, in partnership with The Laurasian Institution, designed to support and invigorate Japanese language education in U.S. K-12 schools. The program places native Japanese assistant teachers (ATs) in schools for up to two years to team-teach alongside lead teachers (LTs), enhance curriculum, and foster cultural exchange. ATs serve as linguistic and cultural ambassadors, providing students and communities with authentic Japanese language exposure and cultural experiences. The program covers all major costs associated with hosting an AT, making it a cost-effective way to expand Japanese language offerings.
