    Description

The Japanese Language Education Assistant Program (J-LEAP) is an initiative of the Japan Foundation of Los Angeles, designed to strengthen Japanese language education in K-12 schools across the United States. The program dispatches young, native Japanese-speaking assistant teachers (ATs) to partner with lead teachers (LTs) for up to two years. ATs co-teach, enrich classroom activities, and serve as cultural ambassadors, helping students experience authentic Japanese language and culture while building bridges between the U.S. and Japan. All major costs for the AT and a teaching materials grant are fully funded, making this a cost-effective way to expand and invigorate Japanese language programs.
