Summary: Two-year fellowship for early-career family medicine scholars to participate in National Academies health policy work, gain mentorship, and develop leadership skills.
This fellowship supports early-career scholars in family medicine by offering a two-year immersive experience with the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. Fellows are assigned to a relevant health or medicine board (e.g., Children, Youth, and Families; Food and Nutrition; Global Health; Health Care Services; Health Sciences Policy; or Population Health and Public Health Practice) and actively contribute to study committees, roundtables, and the development of reports or other outputs. Each fellow is mentored by a senior member of the National Academy of Medicine (NAM), attends a one-week health policy orientation, the NAM Annual Meeting, and board meetings. The fellowship is designed to foster leadership, expand professional networks, and accelerate career development in family medicine and health policy.
