The John von Neumann Distinguished Award in STEM provides U.S. scholars with the opportunity to undertake cutting-edge research and/or teaching in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and related arts (STEAM) fields in Hungary. The award emphasizes international collaboration at high-priority research facilities and universities, such as the ELI-ALPS Institute, ZalaZONE Test Track, and the Biological Research Centre, among others. Scholars may propose projects in areas including autonomous vehicles, artificial intelligence, 5G networks, molecular biology, physics, and materials science. The program encourages interdisciplinary and STEAM projects, as well as engagement with the Hungarian academic community through advising, curriculum development, public talks, and outreach.
