The Junior Resident Fellows Program, organized by the Center for Khmer Studies, is a six-week immersive academic experience held each summer in Cambodia. The program brings together undergraduate students and recent graduates from Cambodia, France, and the United States to engage in intensive study of contemporary Cambodian history, society, and culture. Fellows are based at the CKS campus in Siem Reap, near Angkor Wat, and also spend time in Phnom Penh. The curriculum is led by an expert in Cambodian and Southeast Asian Studies and features interactive classroom sessions, field trips to historical and cultural sites, and engagement with local organizations. Participants are required to attend all sessions, actively participate in discussions, and complete an independent research paper to present at the end of the program. The program is designed to foster cross-cultural understanding and academic growth, with all instruction in English.
