Description
This opportunity provides funding for states, local courts, units of local government, and federally recognized tribal governments to either implement new or enhance existing juvenile drug treatment courts (JDTCs). The program aims to improve outcomes for youth with substance use disorders or co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders by supporting treatment, supervision, and recovery services through the JDTC model.
There are two funding categories:
- Category 1: Planning and Implementation – For jurisdictions establishing new JDTCs.
- Category 2: Enhancement – For jurisdictions expanding or improving existing JDTCs.
Applicants must demonstrate their inability to fund the program without federal assistance, supplement (not supplant) other funding sources, and provide a sustainability plan post-federal funding.
