    Description

The Getty Foundation's Keeping It Modern initiative was a global grant program (2014–2020) aimed at advancing the conservation of significant 20th-century modern architecture. The program funded research, development of conservation management plans, technical studies, and professional training to improve the care and long-term preservation of modern buildings. Over 77 projects worldwide received support, contributing to best practices, technical research, and the creation of a free online repository of conservation plans. While Keeping It Modern is no longer accepting applications, the Getty Foundation has since launched Conserving Black Modernism (2023–2025), which focuses on preserving US buildings designed by Black architects.
