Description

This opportunity, offered by 4Culture in partnership with King County Wastewater Treatment Division, seeks one artist or artist-led team to design a site-specific glass façade artwork for the east stairwell and upper north-facing window of the upgraded Elliott West Wet Weather Treatment Station. The project emphasizes the integration of visual art that reflects the site's relationship to Elliott Bay, the evolving shoreline, and the Interbay and Lower Queen Anne neighborhoods. The selected artist will collaborate with 4Culture, project consultants, and artist Laura Haddad to ensure the new work complements both the architecture and the facility’s environmental mission. Community engagement, environmental stewardship, and the transformation of public infrastructure through public art are central to this commission.
