The KL2 Mentored Career Development Award at Columbia University Irving Medical Center is designed to advance the careers of junior faculty in patient-oriented research (POR). The program provides a structured, multidisciplinary training environment that includes mentored research, participation in team-based mentorship, and completion of a research-focused master's degree (MS in Patient-Oriented Research, or equivalent). Scholars are expected to engage in both didactic and experiential learning, attend seminars and colloquia, and develop research independence in clinical and translational science. The program places a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration and team science.
