Description
The Klarman Fellowships at Cornell University’s College of Arts & Sciences support early-career scholars of outstanding talent, initiative, and promise. Fellows pursue independent, frontline research without being tied to particular grants, predetermined outcomes, or teaching responsibilities. Supported fields include the natural, quantitative, and social sciences, humanistic inquiry, creative arts, and emerging work that crosses traditional disciplinary boundaries.
The program selects fellows from a global applicant pool, considering research accomplishments, future contributions, and alignment with proposed faculty mentors. It also considers how applicants’ work can benefit from and contribute to the College’s strategic research areas. Faculty hosts provide mentorship and support throughout the appointment. The fellowships are made possible by Seth Klarman and Beth Schultz Klarman.
