Summary: Supports scholars using digital methods and Library of Congress collections for innovative, interdisciplinary research in digital studies.
The fellowship provides an opportunity for scholars to undertake innovative research using digital methods and the extensive digital collections of the Library of Congress. It encourages interdisciplinary and cross-cultural projects, spanning digital scholarship, digital humanities, data science, data analysis, visualization, and digital publishing. Fellows will engage deeply with the Library’s digital assets, including the National Digital Library, web archiving programs, and vast digital and print collections, and will benefit from curatorial expertise and the community of digital scholarship at the Library. Research should address the impact of the digital revolution on society and culture, with proposals expected to articulate the importance of the research to fundamental thinking about the human condition and how Library of Congress resources will inform the work.
