Summary: A 12-month fellowship at Yale's Haas Family Arts Library for recent library graduates to develop projects and gain experience in art librarianship, supported by the Samuel H. Kress Foundation.
The Kress Fellowship in Art Librarianship at Yale University is a 12-month, full-time professional development opportunity for recent graduates of ALA-accredited library and information science programs with a background in art, architecture, design, or related visual disciplines. Hosted at the Robert B. Haas Family Arts Library, with one day per week at the Yale Center for British Art’s Archives, the fellowship allows the recipient to design and implement a project aligned with their interests and the library’s needs. Fellows engage in activities such as activating library spaces, developing public and outreach services, community engagement, collection development, and assessment. The program emphasizes collaboration, professional growth, and networking within Yale’s academic and museum communities, as well as the broader field of art librarianship.
