--- ## Description The LA Arts Community Fire Relief Fund was created in response to the catastrophic Eaton and Palisades fires that struck Los Angeles County in January 2025. Led by the Getty Foundation and administered by the Center for Cultural Innovation (CCI), this fund aimed to provide swift, meaningful financial relief to artists and arts workers whose primary residences or studios were damaged, destroyed, or rendered inaccessible. The fund was designed to help individuals in the creative sector recover from the immediate aftermath of the fires and ensure the continued vitality of the LA arts community. --- ## Due Dates - February 18, 2025: Full application deadline (applications must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. PST) --- ## Funding Amount - Applicants could request up to $10,000 in unrestricted, one-time support. - Total of $16.4 million was distributed to 1,689 artists and arts workers. - Most recipients received the full $10,000, especially those who lost a home or uninsured studio. --- ## Eligibility Applicants must meet all of the following criteria: - Be a current, full-time resident of Los Angeles County as of January 7, 2025. - Be 18 years or older. - Have experienced loss, severe damage, or lack of access to their home and/or artmaking studio as a result of the Eaton or Palisades fires. - Be either: - An individual working artist (all disciplines), or - A full-time, part-time, or contract arts worker at an LA County arts organization. - Submit a complete application (one application per individual). - Have no conflict of interest with CCI board, staff, or agents.
