The Latino Equity Fund (LEF), managed by The Boston Foundation, is the first and only philanthropic fund in Massachusetts dedicated to activating, convening, and supporting the Latinx community in Greater Boston and across the Commonwealth. Established in 2013, LEF advances equity and prosperity for Latinx residents by supporting nonprofits that address basic needs (such as housing, food security, legal aid, and healthcare access) and promote economic mobility (including job readiness, ESOL/language access, workforce integration, and credentialing).
LEF prioritizes funding for organizations that are Latinx-led or Latinx-serving, especially those that have not previously received funding from LEF or The Boston Foundation. The fund also commissions research, convenes community events, and advocates for systemic change to uplift Latino voices and address disparities.
