The Law Enforcement Training Scholarship Program (LETS) is a competitive grant administered by the Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention and Policy to enhance the professional skills of Maryland’s law enforcement and prosecutorial personnel. The program provides funding for specialized, non-degree training, including investigative methods, unmanned aircraft systems (UAS/drone) operations, and leadership development. Funds may be used for travel, lodging, registration, training materials, and, in some cases, to bring trainers onsite. The aim is to increase the capacity and effectiveness of agencies through targeted training opportunities that are not otherwise supported by operational budgets.
