The Limited Gaming Impact Grant program provides competitive funding to local governments in Colorado to mitigate the documented impacts of limited stakes gaming in Cripple Creek, Black Hawk, and Central City, as well as surrounding eligible counties and municipalities. Funded by a portion of state gaming tax revenues, the program supports projects related to planning, construction, and maintenance of public facilities and the provision of essential public services directly linked to gaming activities. The program is managed by the Department of Local Affairs and guided by the Limited Gaming Impact Advisory Committee, which reviews applications and recommends awards.
Eligible projects must clearly demonstrate and document negative impacts from gaming activities that are not fully mitigated by other revenue sources. The program is designed to ensure that the needs arising from gaming-related changes—such as increased demand on law enforcement, emergency services, human services, jails, and infrastructure—are addressed through targeted investments.
