--- ## Description The Livingston Fellowship provides senior-level, community-centered leaders in Colorado’s social sector with a $40,000 award to pursue advanced learning, reflection, and personal/professional growth. The fellowship is designed to invest in leaders who are catalyzing systemic change, offering them the opportunity to develop individualized development plans, participate in a robust alumni network, and access national/international learning experiences. Beginning in 2025, eligibility has expanded to include leaders working in for-profit social enterprises, as well as nonprofits, reflecting a commitment to supporting a diverse array of community-driven leaders. --- ## Due Dates - December 2026 (Nomination submission deadline, anticipated/projected) *All dates are projected based on the annual cycle; check the program page for updates.* --- ## Funding Amount - Each Livingston Fellow receives a $40,000 award to support a one-year personal and professional development plan. - Funding may be used for national/international travel, academic programs, peer learning, and other experiences that foster creativity and resilience. - Award amounts in recent years have ranged from $35,000 to $40,000 per fellow. --- ## Eligibility Eligible candidates must: - Be senior-level, full-time, paid leaders of organizations or enterprises based in Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, or Jefferson counties, Colorado. - Lead a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, a fiscally sponsored organization, or a for-profit business/social enterprise with a primary social purpose and strong community impact. - Have significant responsibility for programmatic and/or operational activities. - Receive full support from their employing organization, including a commitment to organizational management during the fellowship period. - For for-profit leaders: must demonstrate community focus and provide assurances from community partners about the business’s social impact. Ineligible candidates include: - Elected officials, government employees, employees of foundations or family offices, Bonfils-Stanton Foundation staff, trustees, or their relatives/partners. --- ## Application Process 1. **Nomination**: Submit online nomination (including self-nominations) by the anticipated December deadline. Only 1–2 nominations per candidate are needed. 2. **Candidate Review**: Nominated candidates may provide optional additional information. Self-nominees advance automatically. 3. **Panel Review**: A selection panel of Colorado community leaders reviews nominations and selects finalists. 4. **Finalist Application**: Finalists submit a full application (resume, leadership philosophy, goals, lived experience, and an endorsement from their board chair or business associate). 5. **Interviews**: Conducted at candidates’ workplaces by foundation staff and alumni. 6. **Selection**: Board of Trustees approves the new class of fellows. 7. **Fellowship Year**: Fellows develop a personal plan, attend orientation and retreats, and engage with the alumni network.
