Key Information: Proposals must be submitted electronically via NEIWPCC's portal; late or incomplete submissions will not be considered.
This funding opportunity, offered by NEIWPCC in partnership with the Long Island Sound Partnership and state agencies, seeks proposals to improve and refine habitat connectivity models for the Long Island Sound region. The project aims to develop GIS shapefiles for existing New York habitat restoration projects, create new model metrics for assessing habitat connectivity across priority habitat types, and build user-friendly applications for data management and visualization. The results will inform site selection for restoration, conservation, and improved habitat connectivity, directly supporting the goals of the Long Island Sound 2025 Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan (CCMP). The selected contractor will collaborate closely with the Thriving Habitat and Abundant Wildlife Work Group (THAWWG) and deliver model variations, applications, training materials, and comprehensive reports.
