The Long-term International Fellowship (LIFe) is designed to enhance the skills and capacity of early-career oncologists from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The program provides advanced clinical and research training through a blend of in-person and virtual mentorship with a host institution in the U.S., Canada, or Europe. Fellows spend up to six months on-site at the host institution, followed by an additional six to twelve months of virtual mentorship, for a total fellowship duration of 12 or 18 months. After the in-person phase, fellows return to their home institution to continue their research with ongoing remote support from their mentor, ultimately aiming to improve cancer care in their country of origin.
