The Long-term Visiting Fellowships at the German Historical Institute Washington (GHI) provide advanced doctoral candidates and postdoctoral scholars the opportunity to conduct extended research residencies of 6 to 12 months in Washington, DC. Fellows pursue projects in broad thematic areas such as German, European, and Jewish history; transatlantic history; the history of migration and mobility; and the study of empires and their legacies, with a particular interest in transnational or global perspectives and digital history approaches.
