The fellowship provides qualified children’s librarians with the opportunity to spend up to four weeks at the Baldwin Library of Historical Children's Literature at the University of Florida, Gainesville. The Baldwin Library houses a unique collection of 130,000 volumes of children’s literature, primarily published before 1950. The fellowship is intended to foster scholarship, research, and public engagement in the field of historical children’s literature. Fellows are expected to undertake a research project that will benefit the profession and share their findings through public programs or publications.
