--- ## Description This program supports fundamental research on the magnetized plasma envelope of the Earth’s outer atmosphere, focusing on processes such as energization by the solar wind, the origin and evolution of geomagnetic storms and substorms, population by solar and ionospheric sources, the generation of electric fields, and the coupling among the magnetosphere, ionosphere, and atmosphere. The program also encourages studies of waves and instabilities in natural plasma environments.
