Description
The Manufactured Home Improvement and Repair Program (MHIR) is a Vermont statewide initiative designed to maintain and improve affordable housing for residents of manufactured home parks. The program offers three primary funding streams:
- Park Improvements for Small-Scale Capital Infill: Assists park owners in filling vacant or abandoned lots, demolishing abandoned homes, and covering related expenses.
- Home Repair Awards: Provides funding to homeowners for critical repairs to prevent displacement and extend the life of their homes.
- Manufactured Home Foundation Awards: Supports the installation of permanent foundations or HUD-approved slabs for new or existing homes.
MHIR is delivered in partnership with the Vermont State Housing Authority (VSHA) and the Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity (CVOEO), focusing on the needs of over 7,000 Vermont households living in manufactured homes.
