Description
The University of Calgary makes annual Animal Health Research Grants through the Margaret Gunn Endowment for Animal Research, established in 1993 in honour of Margaret Dallas Gunn. The grants provide operating support for significant new projects in animal health and behaviour, with special attention to agriculture. They are intended to help researchers develop work toward future Tri-Council funding or equivalent funding related to agriculture.
The Vice-President (Research) makes awards on the recommendation of the endowment committee. The committee considers scientific merit, alignment with the endowment’s purposes, applicants’ research accomplishments, training of advanced students in animal health and behaviour, and prospects for attracting further support.
