The Marshall Memorial Fellowship is the flagship leadership development program of the German Marshall Fund of the United States. Since 1982, it has cultivated a new generation of transatlantic leaders by bringing together emerging professionals from Europe and North America for a year-long experience. The program combines virtual and in-person learning, including three weeks of immersive travel, peer networking, and cross-sector collaboration. Fellows explore transatlantic relations, leadership, and democratic values, culminating in a robust alumni network of over 4,000 leaders who continue to engage in addressing global challenges. Each fellow develops a research focus and participates in high-level meetings, roundtables, and site visits across multiple cities.
