Summary: Supports development and national dissemination of maternal health emergency training and implementation strategies for clinicians and first responders in non-delivery and low-resource clinical settings.
This opportunity, offered by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), aims to extend the reach of the Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health (AIM) program. The focus is on improving maternal health outcomes by increasing the capacity and preparedness of clinicians and first responders who care for pregnant and postpartum women in non-delivery and/or low-resource clinical settings, such as emergency departments, urgent care centers, rural hospitals, and first response environments. The program addresses gaps in workforce training for maternal health emergencies, particularly in settings where such emergencies are rare but require rapid recognition and response.
The program funds two main initiatives:
The funded project will develop, refine, and disseminate these resources nationally, with the goal of standardizing care, improving early detection and management of maternal health emergencies, and ultimately enhancing outcomes for mothers and infants.
