Topics of interest span material response (deformation, fracture, fatigue, contact, friction), structural response (nonlinear deformation, instability, collapse, wave propagation), and the intersection of materials and structures (meta-materials, hierarchical, micro-architectured, and low-dimensional materials). Research leveraging advanced computing (e.g., reduced-order modeling, data-driven or stochastic methods), data analytics for deformation or damage, and novel experimental techniques for extreme loading conditions are encouraged. Projects addressing mechanics across multiple length and time scales, including multiphysics, are also welcome.
