The Medical Student Training in Aging Research (MSTAR) Program offers U.S. medical students the opportunity to engage in aging-related research and geriatrics through a structured, mentored experience at one of several National Training Centers (NTCs). The program is designed to introduce early-career medical students to research in basic, translational, clinical, or health services areas relevant to older adults. Participants receive hands-on research training, didactic sessions, and clinical exposure under the guidance of leading experts, with the goal of inspiring future academic careers in geriatrics and aging research. Scholars are also invited to present their research at the Annual Meeting of the American Geriatrics Society.
