Description
This opportunity from the U.S. Mission to Egypt funds a comprehensive mentor program designed to enhance the capacity of Egyptian English language instructors. The program will provide intensive, practical training in modern TESOL methodologies, AI-enhanced instruction, critical thinking, classroom management, and 21st-century skills integration. It aims to address gaps in pedagogical training and professional development for English teachers in Egypt, ultimately strengthening the quality of English education and fostering cross-cultural understanding between Egypt and the United States.
The initiative will directly train 150 English instructors from across Egypt through a one-week, 56-hour intensive course. Each participant is then required to complete 100 hours of volunteer mentorship in their communities, directly impacting over 1,500 additional English teachers. The program is structured to create sustainable professional learning communities, facilitate the adoption of innovative teaching practices, and promote mutual understanding between the U.S. and Egypt.
