This award provides U.S. mid-career professionals (including artists and practitioners in all fields) with at least seven years of experience the opportunity to take a four- to five-month sabbatical in Finland. The focus is on non-academic projects that enhance professional development and contribute to the field, such as professional consultations, artist residencies, organizational visits, public lectures, mentoring, or similar activities. The award is not intended for academic research or classroom teaching.
Grantees are expected to engage with their host community through outreach activities that support Fulbright’s mission of international understanding. Applicants must propose a concrete project plan detailing their intended activities and anticipated professional benefits.
