Description
The Military Training and Cooperation Program (MTCP) is a defence diplomacy initiative led by the Canada Department of National Defence. Its primary aim is to strengthen reciprocal defence relations with developing countries of strategic interest to Canada through cooperative, capacity-building projects. The program promotes peace support operations interoperability, reinforces bilateral defence ties with select non-NATO nations, and advances Canadian democratic principles, rule of law, international stability, and human rights.
