The Milton Safenowitz Postdoctoral Fellowship Program, funded by the ALS Association, is designed to attract and retain talented early-career scientists in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) research. The program supports innovative projects of high scientific merit and relevance to ALS, while also nurturing the professional development of fellows through networking, collaboration, and participation in the ALS Association’s Postdoctoral Fellowship Consortium. Fellows benefit from mentorship, community engagement, and opportunities to develop foundational data and publications to advance their careers. Over two decades, this program has supported more than 100 fellows, with a significant majority continuing in ALS research or related biomedical fields.
