This opportunity supports the establishment of Medical Research Council Centres of Research Excellence (MRC CoREs) to address bold, ambitious, and interdisciplinary challenges in biomedical or health research. The scheme aims to create beacons of excellence in research culture, leadership, and innovation, with a strong emphasis on transformative research addressing substantial unmet needs. MRC CoREs are expected to foster collaborative environments, integrate public partnerships, and train the next generation of researchers and technologists.
