This fellowship opportunity supports postdoctoral researchers to investigate novel approaches in the design and assembly of multifunctional materials exhibiting multiple orthogonal properties such as electrical and ionic conductivity, optical transparency, chemical stability/reactivity, energy content, and catalytic activity. These materials are critical for advanced technologies including battery and fuel cell electrodes, electrically initiated solid fuels, and controlled gas storage or purification systems. The research will focus on morphology and functional features across multiple length scales to develop materials with special properties relevant to Naval applications, particularly in heterogeneous or electro-catalysis.
