--- ## Description This program funds mentoring organizations to enhance and expand mentoring services for children and youth who are at risk or high risk for delinquency, victimization, and involvement with the juvenile justice system. The goal is to improve positive outcomes—such as academic performance and reduced school dropout rates—while reducing negative behaviors including delinquency, substance use, and gang participation. Funding is structured across three categories, based on the number of states in which the applicant operates, with priority given to organizations demonstrating broad reach and a history of effective mentoring services. --- ## Due Dates - **Grants.gov Application Deadline:** October 21, 2025, 11:59 p.m. ET - **JustGrants Application Deadline:** October 27, 2025, 8:59 p.m. ET Applicants must complete a two-step submission process: first via Grants.gov, then in JustGrants. --- ## Funding Amount - **Estimated Total Funding:** $25,180,000 - **Award Range:** $1,000,000–$4,000,000 per award - **Expected Number of Awards:** 15 - **Award Duration:** Up to 36 months **Categories:** - **Category 1:** $1,000,000 (mentoring in 1 state, expanding to another state or jurisdiction) - **Category 2:** $1,000,000–$4,000,000 (mentoring in 2–10 states) - **Category 3:** $2,000,000–$4,000,000 (mentoring in 11–44 states) No cost sharing or matching is required. --- ## Eligibility Eligible applicants include: - State governments - County, city, township, and special district governments - Independent school districts - Public and private institutions of higher education - Federally recognized and other Native American tribal governments and organizations - Nonprofits (with or without 501(c)(3) status, except institutions of higher education) - Units of local government (towns, boroughs, parishes, villages, etc.) - Other entities as specified in the full announcement **Additional Requirements:** - Organizations must have operated and provided mentoring services for at least 3 years. - The mentoring program must be a structured, standalone model with documented history. - Applicants must be the headquarters office of the mentoring organization or curriculum. - Category-specific eligibility applies based on the number of states served.
