The Municipal Assistance Program (MAP) provides funding to help Pennsylvania local governments plan for, implement, and manage a variety of community and economic development initiatives. The emphasis is on fostering intergovernmental cooperation through shared services (such as consolidating or regionalizing municipal functions, boundary change studies, and shared personnel) and supporting comprehensive and innovative community planning efforts. MAP is administered by the Governor’s Center for Local Government Services at the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED).
