Summary: Supports faculty-led natural science research and undergraduate student engagement at private, predominantly undergraduate colleges in the Pacific Northwest.
The Murdock College Research Program for Natural Sciences provides research funding to strengthen natural science research capacity and culture at private, predominantly undergraduate colleges and universities in the Pacific Northwest. Established in 1997 and expanded in 2014, the program encourages faculty to engage undergraduates in substantive research, supports both standard research grants and a BRIDGE option for faculty who have recently lost federal funding, and aims to help institutions and researchers become competitive for ongoing external research support. Projects must be faculty-led, hypothesis-driven, and involve undergraduate student researchers.
