Two-year fellowship for early-career pharmacy scholars to engage in health policy work at the National Academies and develop as future leaders.

--- ## Description The NAM Fellowship in Pharmacy is a prestigious two-year program designed for early-career health science scholars in pharmacy. Fellows remain in their current academic positions while dedicating 10–20% of their time to participate in the health- and medicine-related work of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. The fellowship provides direct involvement with one of several policy boards (e.g., Global Health, Health Care Services), participation in expert study committees or roundtables, and attendance at orientation and annual meetings. Fellows are paired with a senior NAM member as a mentor, gain access to a national network of leaders in health policy, and receive a $25,000 research grant to support their professional and academic development (excluding salary offset and indirect costs). The program is supported by endowments from the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and aims to cultivate the next generation of leaders in pharmacy, with a strong emphasis on advancing pharmacy practice and scholarship. --- ## Due Dates - June 1, 2026: Nomination packets due by 3:00pm ET Fellowships are awarded in even years. The next call for nominations will open in March 2026, with notifications in July and orientation in September. --- ## Funding Amount - $25,000 flexible research grant per fellow, awarded over two years - Grant is administered through the fellow’s home institution - Funds cannot be used as salary offset and no indirect costs are allowed - Domestic travel expenses for approved fellowship activities are covered --- ## Eligibility Nominees must: - Be nominated by a member of the NAM, the board of directors of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), or the board of regents of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) - Hold a Pharm.D. and/or Ph.D. in a relevant field of pharmaceutical or clinical sciences - Be able to dedicate 10–20% effort to the fellowship for two years - Be between four and ten years post-completion of graduate work, OR between five and fifteen years post-completion of a Pharm.D. - Have sponsorship from their academic department head or equivalent supervisor - Have endorsement from their dean or comparable senior leader - Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident at the time of nomination Preference is given to candidates with demonstrated interest in advancing pharmacy practice and scholarship.
