Description
This opportunity will fund a National Center for Benefits Outreach and Enrollment (NCBOE) to provide technical assistance, outreach, and enrollment support for federal and state benefit programs targeting older adults with the greatest economic need. The NCBOE will:
- Maintain and update web-based decision support and enrollment tools, and integrated, person-centered systems to inform older adults about all benefits for which they may be eligible.
- Use cost-effective strategies to identify and enroll economically vulnerable older individuals in appropriate programs.
- Support Aging and Disability Resource Centers (ADRCs), Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs), and other public/private, state, and community-based organizations—including faith-based and coalition groups—to serve as benefit enrollment centers.
- Develop and maintain a clearinghouse of best practices and cost-effective methods for outreach and enrollment.
- Provide training and technical assistance on effective outreach, screening, enrollment, and follow-up strategies.
The program aims to maximize access to benefits for older adults, especially those with the greatest economic need, by leveraging technology, partnerships, and evidence-based outreach.
