This opportunity funds the establishment and operation of a National Center on Academic Interventions under the Technical Assistance and Dissemination to Improve Services and Results for Children with Disabilities program (Assistance Listing 84.326Q). The Center will provide technical assistance, support model demonstration projects, and disseminate information to improve academic achievement and close achievement gaps for students with disabilities in literacy and mathematics. The Center will focus on supporting educators and educational agencies in implementing evidence-based academic interventions, with a strong emphasis on scientifically supported practices.
The program seeks to address significant achievement gaps highlighted by the 2024 National Assessment of Education Progress, particularly in reading and mathematics for students with disabilities. The funded Center will help local educational agencies (LEAs), schools, and educators implement and sustain evidence-based instruction tailored to the individualized needs of students with disabilities, preparing them for school and postsecondary success.
