This program provides competitive, cost-sharing grants to designated state and territory agencies for the conservation of coastal wetland ecosystems. Eligible projects include acquisition of real property interests and the restoration, enhancement, or management of coastal wetlands. The primary goal is to ensure the long-term conservation of these vital habitats, which benefit coastal communities, fish and wildlife, and the public through flood protection, water quality maintenance, and economic activities such as fishing and tourism. The program is co-administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Coastal Program and the Office of Conservation Investment.
