Description
This grant opportunity, offered by the U.S. Mission to Indonesia, aims to build the capacity of Indonesian journalists to report on natural disasters safely, accurately, and ethically. The program targets journalists in disaster-prone areas such as North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and Central Sulawesi, equipping them with critical skills in crisis communication, safety protocols, fact-checking, digital verification, and coordination with emergency officials. The project is expected to train at least 150 journalists from at least seven provinces and foster a cohort of disaster-ready media professionals who can mentor others and elevate reporting standards across Indonesian newsrooms.
