The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) Boosting Innovative GEOINT – Science & Technology Broad Agency Announcement (BIG-ST BAA) is a multi-year, multi-topic funding mechanism supporting innovative research and education in geospatial intelligence (GEOINT). The BAA is structured around periodic "Topic Calls"—each with its own focus, eligibility, and deadlines—published throughout the open solicitation period. The current active topic, MUSE 2 (Magnifying University Science Expertise 2), is focused on developing the next-generation geodesy and geomatics workforce through academic research and curriculum development.
The BAA seeks to address hard GEOINT problems in three technical domains:
Each Topic Call outlines specific requirements, deliverables, and evaluation criteria. The BAA is open to a range of award mechanisms (grants, cooperative agreements, contracts, and OTs), but MUSE 2 is available as a grant only.
