    Description

    Formas seeks to fund the creation and operation of a national graduate school in bioeconomy, supporting a five-year phase (2026–2030) as part of a ten-year initiative. The aim is to strengthen Sweden’s competitiveness and sustainability in the bioeconomy by increasing interdisciplinary expertise and fostering collaboration between academia and industry. The graduate school will coordinate doctoral education, develop joint PhD projects, and offer courses and activities with strong business sector involvement. The thematic scope covers forestry, agriculture, food, textiles, chemistry, and blue bioeconomy, with the intention of building long-term structures for doctoral education and enhancing knowledge transfer to support the green transition.
